Greetings!! Let's bark/talk about this!

We need to talk about greetings!!
I'm a very quiet ( not always), laid back, observant pup. I was wondering why humans shake hands when meeting/greeting someone new??   When dogs meet/greet another new dog, we sniff.  We don't touch each other, ewww, not until we trust each other.  So, we sniff to see who we are dealing with,  a girl or boy and check the other dog for the friendly factor.  You'll know immediately, when you sniff, if another dog doesn't like you.
People!!, How can you shake someone's hand you've never met?? You don't know where that hand has been.  If you just sniffed each other, like we do, you wouldn't have to worry about that.  Just saying!!  from a dog's perspective!!

My Latest!!

Sasha found an alien portal in the Back yard!!!!!  At least, that's what Mom says. I think she discovered the pot of gold and it's in that plant!!  

I'm Filling out more and more!!!   I'm serious, I'm going for MR. Doggie Universe next year.  No one believes me. Just wait!!

I decided to eat/chew my leashes in half  when Dad and Mom went to church in the morning and left me at home.

I also decided to eat the gate too.  I thought they must of just forgotten me  by accident.  I had a lot of good questions for the preacher.  Dad says we are just going to have to start our own church that is Dog friendly. Then I can  go too!!  I shouldn't have to remind you all  again, that God spelled backwards is Dog!!  Mom put the trash can in front of the gate, so now it's harder to get to the gate. I don't get it?? That's not helpful!!  

Mulch!! I love mulch!!  Dad says I don't have paws, I have shovels! I'm great at spreading the mulch around in the new landscaping on my hill!!  It covers Dog Poop quite excellently!! Dad keeps talking about putting a fence up-- such a bad idea, cuz then I couldn't help him with his garden on MY hill!!

This is the best way to sleep! Lots of pillows!!  annnd on that  note my secretary is very sleepy so I'm  signing off------ Woof!
The Gunth

Wooof!! or  as Sasha would say "Roooooooof"  So, Sasha and I had a, who can water the lawn/ tinkle longer, competition today and Mom missed the kodak moment.  We found our respective spots on the lawn,  faced each other and went at it.  Pee'd to our hearts content!   Actually, I'm glad Mom missed it cuz I lost! I think I started first so maybe it was a tie??  It's soooo not a fair contest since Sasha's on that pill that makes her pee/tinkle. I do take pride in how much I can stow to mark every place I go!!  I thought for sure I could take her!  Oh well, On to more adventures!

 Mom wanted to take progressive pics of my weight gain....  even though I haven't gained but I am more defined!! Watch out Doggie Universe competition, once I bulk up, I'm some tough competition!!

Today was Mom's day off!!! Whoohooooo!!

     Lake!!   I like to look at water but it's purely enjoyable from afar. Why go in??  I just get wet!!  I don't like to get wet... reminds me of getting a bath!!

Dog park, Car Wash, and Lil Roo is hanging tough!!

Good News!!  I don't have the " Runs" !!  Wooooof!!!  That makes Mom delighted!!  Also, Lil Roo is still here!!  She coughs a lot and Mom says with the amount of Lasix she's on, 300mg a day, she shouldn't have any fluid left in her lungs!!  I don't know what Mom is talking about, what the heck is Lasix?,  but I'm glad she is still here and hasn't left for the Rainbow bridge.  Mom told Roo if she finds a pot of gold at the Rainbow, she better send some our way to pay for all the vet bills!!

Before I show you this weeks adventures, here are some doggie tips:

1. Don't spread the bathroom trash all over the place and attempt to sort it, actually that goes for the kitchen trash too.
2. Don't drag the entire kitchen trash can into your room... Well, if you have a room, I decided the guest room is now Gunther's room.
3. If you try to sneak your treat bag into your bedroom best to wait until Mom is very far out of range. Trust me, she has incredible hearing!! 
4. If you don't want to go home from your walk or Car ride, just put on the brakes.  Either refuse to leave the car or make DAD drag you home on your walk.  You may not win buuut, you will get to stay out longer!
5. Stick with the squeaky toys cuz when you tear apart a treasured rug, mom and dad aren't too happy.
6.  If Mom wants to sleep in till 800am, let her!  She loves it!!  I climb on the bed without waking her and sleep right next to her until she wakes up or 8am, which ever comes first. Actually, I just wake her at 8am  -she won't wake up on her own and day light is burning!! We have many adventures to do!!
7. Lastly, hold out for CHICKEN!!  They will cave!!  CHICKEN is the BEST food on earth!!

Okay on to My adventures this week!!!!! 

Car WASH!! This beats the dog wash any day and I met some friendly peeps! Also, the car wash is fascinating! Humans wash their cars so they can get them dirty again.  I don't get it?? Why wash them?  It must be the same human principal as cutting lawns. Why cut a beautiful green lawn? They plant grass to grow nice and green then cut it all down??  Long grass covers dog poop beautifully, why cut it? I don't get humans some times!

ROCKLIN DOG PARK!!  I've never been to a dog park and boy was there some interesting smells!! And I met another great Pyr named OLIVE!! She was very nice!

This next lil guy I met looks innocent but,  he tried to get toooo friendly with me so, I finally had to growl at him. He left me alone right away.  Mom said I did the right thing because he needed to learn some manors! We were still friends after : )

Lastly,  a picture of my sister.  She is a rock star!!  Mom says she has 20 lives, way more than a cat!!

The Rainbow Bridge

Today was a tough puppy day...   I have the "Runs" which really stinks!! Peeuuuuu!!  Mom is trying to fix this ASAP!!  The good news is I get to eat CHICKEN and RICE!! I love CHICKEN and rice!!!

Also, I learned about the Rainbow bridge today.  Mom and Dad tried to explain this neat place to me where puppies go after they have loved all they can on this earth.  We get to retire and play with other dogs, humans, and eat as much CHICKEN as we like. They said it's fantastic!!  We may even get to fly... Mom says she's hoping she get's to fly someday because she has lots of dreams of flying!!

Mom said Sasha, my sister,  may go to the Bridge soon to see her brothers and 2 sister's that are already there.  She never met her Cat brother that is there but is excited to see him. Mom says she has to play nice and try NOT to eat Him.   Mostly, she is excited to see her two sisters Chelsey, Sheba, and of course Max! :)

Sasha says that I make her really happy but she still misses her Moosey-boy!  Mom told her she could see Moosey when she goes to the Bridge. He'll be waiting for her. : )  Sasha has been to the vet 2 times this week and her heart is getting very weak and she is very tired.  Mom says she's not sure how much more love she has left to give us but when you go to the Bridge, you get an endless supply!!  I sure would like her to hang around a bit longer.  I was so worried  when she went to the vet today and I couldn't settle down.  I just paced waiting for her to come home.   Mom and Dad said it will be okay when she goes to the Bridge. We will thank her for all the love she gave us and wish her well!!  She will be able to take extra love from us to give to our family in heaven!! : )

So, tonight we gave extra love to my sister Sasha!  Letting her know that when she decides it's time to go that we will be okay and always love her!!

What a great day!! Whoot!! but, I'm sleep deprived tonight!!! Booooo!!

Woof!! Today was a great day!! We went to the Precinct walk to help my good Auntie Pam Tobin!! She runs the Sierra Great Pyrenees rescue and is running for Placer County Supervisor too!!  Donna, who also works with the Rescue, was there with her Pyrs, Riley and Lacy!!  I was so excited to see her !! Her pups are wonderful and as big as me!! We passed out flyers , met some really fun people and had a great time!!.  Then Mom and I napped because we like to...opps I like to get up at 3am., so we get a little  tired by Noon.  Mom then woke me up and decided we needed to go to the pet store to buy a variety of different wet foods to find the one I like.  Kinda like a buffet!! Awesome!!  Mom says I need to eat wet food and kibble and less CHICKEN because we don't own a chicken ranch! Tonight's dinner was yummy and I ate like a King!!! BUT.... then the warm puppies hit and mom won't let me SLEEP!

I'm so tired but , She closed all the doors to my favorite places to hunker down and now I'm stuck with the TV on keeping me awake!  Mom says my schedule of being awake from 3am to 11am and then sleeping the rest of the day and partial night, doesn't work for her or dad. She wants me to go to bed later.  This Stinks!! She comes in and claps and says my name to keep me awake.  uggggh!!
She won't even offer me Coffee!   My sister Roo has tons of energy!!  Where does she get it from???

Here are the things I do when I'm bored and why mom doesn't want me to wake up so early:

1: BARK, BARK, BARK!!  I don't know why they get upset,  I'm just singing "Rise and Shine and give God the Glory, Glory....."  They must not understand Dogie singing! ( see number 5)

2. I like to run around with my squeaky toy!!!  I'm so happy they have dogie squeaky toys, they are the best!!!!  Again, they don't like this at 3am...... humffff  I don't understand humans?!?

3. I like to tip over the trash can to see if there is any CHICKEN in it!

    It seems to always be locked!!  I know I can figure out how to open it.

4. I don't know why they had the little gate to rest of the back yard and gardens closed with a bungee??
    It was likely a mistake, so I fixed it for them... I'm sure they were happy!!

5. When I'm bored in the morning, I like to go to my favorite place in the yard, which is the highest place above the retaining wall,  and SING!!  I sing my heart out--BARK BARK BARK!! You know the song..   AGAIN,  the humans don't appreciate my well trained Opera voice!!  So, mom put on a special singing collar.   I thinks it's to help me sing from my svelte abs instead of my lungs!!  It sprays this mist and is a little annoying but the secret , for all you dogs that appreciate singing, is to point your noise straight up in the air, take a deep breath and SING away.... The mist sprays under and away from your nose because the collar slides down your neck..  It actually enhances your Song,  because  stretching your neck, releases your vocal cords. I sound beautiful!!!    Eventually the mist stops and then the exercise is over and you can just bark/sing normally!!  I'm so glad my mom got me this collar!! I'm sounding better and better!!

Time to go see if Mom is ready for bed yet?!?   She says we go to bed together so we can wake up together and it is much better for the whole family.   I think she's wrong but don't have the heart to tell her.  I'll play along this time.

A few of My favorite Things!!

My latest update is:  I didn't gain any weight my first week but I didn't lose any so my Mom thinks thats just fine.  My energy is much better and my legs seem stronger too.  We feel good about that!! Annd I'm a very happy Dog!! I smile and laugh often, something everyone should do!! : )

These are a few of my favorite things!!!!

• Meat bones!!-- Mom left one on the counter to save for my dessert tonight and when my P's were out I was able to grab it off the counter!
• I love all the people at the Sierra Pacific Great Pyr Rescue they are wonderful!!! : )
• Counter surfing!!
• Satin Balls-- I love these!! They are delicious and Mom says they will help me put on weight!!  Thank you Randi and Gail for suggesting them to MOM!!!

• I like having much more energy!

• I like playing with fuzzy toys! Here is Sasha with one or our newest toys!

• The guest room bed is awesome!

• Sasha, my sister, is wonderful! Here we are in the back yard

• CHICKEN!!!! It's the best!

• I've met 3 new dogs Spencer, Lexi and Molly.... All are great and when I get stronger I'll get to play with them.

• Love Walks!

• Laying on the couch with Mom or Dad!!

• I met Shelly, Dan and Randi and played with Jenta again. I love People they give me so much love.

• I like to sit on Randi! I don't know why I decided to do that, but it just felt right at the time.

• I like to jump on the bed and wake my mom up at 6am....She hates it and we're in negotiations over this favorite thing to do.

• I love going to pet food stores, actually any ride in the car is fun!!

Well, there are many more things I like to do, but I'm zzzzzz.... so I'm signing off  WOOF!!!!!!

Hi my name is Gunther Gabriel Hintz!   I was on the kill list at a shelter in Sonora and a very nice person saved me.  She then gave me to the Sierra Great Pyrenees Rescue because she couldn't keep me.  The Rescue gave me the name Gabriel ' Gabe' because it was an angel that saved me!!
I must have been on my own for awhile because I'm under weight and my fur had to be shaved off because it was so matted.  I found my forever home with Stew, Patty and Sasha!!  I weighed 78lbs initially when I was found and when I was adopted I weight about 85lbs... I should weigh over 100.
I'm a very very sweet boy!! And my mom says I'm the only dog she knows that likes to be inside more than outside.  Although, I do enjoy my daily walk and it must be over 30min or I bark loudly in protest.

 Here's my new best furry friend Sasha.  She is very wise and is so sweet to me! This is the day I was adopted at the Rescue.

This is another picture at the Rescue... Such a pretty place!! Any dog would be lucky if these people rescued them!!

I'll keep you updated with how I'm doing and any fun adventures that I have!!
Have I mentioned yet that there is only one food that matters in the world and it is CHICKEN!!!
I'm a very picky eater and mom is trying to find ways to get me to eat dog food--- Have you ever tasted dog food?!?  It's aweful!! ... I keep trying to tell her that but she still wants me to eat it!!
